Arguayo. Traditional Canarian Village
The air is clear, the sky is wide and the landscape invites you to reconnect with nature, creativity and inner peace.
Arguayo is a unique space where the charm of a traditional Canarian village meets breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, the majestic Teide volcano and neighboring islands.
Nestled at approximately 1000 meters above sea level, Arguayo offers a tranquil haven away from the noise and rush of coastal life. There are also fascinating traces of Guanche heritage, the ancient people of Tenerife.
Caves in the surrounding hills still bear witness to their presence and after rainy days the earth sometimes reveals fragments of Guanche pottery with distinctive geometric patterns.
One of the most symbolic places in the village is the Pata de Guanche a natural rock formation shaped like a big footprint long considered a sacred site.
For those interested in local history and culture the Ethnographic Ceramic Museum of Arguayo is worth a visit.
There you’ll find a collection of traditional Canarian pottery, tools and household items from different periods.
Among its highlights is the Piedra del Valiente (the Stone of the Brave) a large volcanic rock that according to legend only the strongest Guanche warriors could lift and hold above their heads.
Arguayo is a place where nature, history and human stories weave together.
And in the heart of this village you’ll find Arguayo Zen House - a space for silence and reconnection.
From the roots of the past to the Zen of present
